Well, I am getting pretty pumped about moving and decorating! Which means it's time to start putting ideas together about how I want to decorate the downstairs and my room. Blues and greens for sure downstairs, but I still don't have a clue how I want my room to look! I guess I will start browsing for ideas and post them... fun fun!!

My first dinette set!

SO.. I bought by first piece of furniture, and I absolutely LOVE it! I also LOVE the price I paid for it. It's a Hillsdale set I got at the DUMP discount furniture shop off of Military Hwy in Norfolk, Va. and the original asking price when they got it was a little over 700, but there was a small nick in the side of the table top so it was reduced, didn't sell, and then was put on clearance for $300!!! You better believe I would take it with a little tiny scratch that is so easy to be fixed for $400 off!! After looking online I found the same table at Wal-Mart for over $900. Crazy! But I was very happy that I found what I wanted for new for such a great price! Now, time to start looking for paint colors for the downstairs and my room/bathroom! YAY!

It's been a while

Well, I haven't been able to log in but I finally got it working again! A lot has happened since my last post. To start, Brittany and Zach's wedding was just absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! Brett made it just in time for the reception, and we all had the best time possible! :) Sadly, I totally missed to bouquet toss bc I was waiting in line for the bathroom, total crap. Oh well. Other than that everything went really well. Although the fireworks going off right when Ashley started to make her toast was pretty funny. Lets see, what else... I had my first coaches meeting yesterday. I am really stoked I get to pick out new Competition uniforms for this season. I have found some I really like already. http://ipaperus.ipaperus.com/Varsity/2010CDT/ the uniform on page 44 is my favorite. I would get the D top though, I don't like the open shoulder. I think the other coaches I will be working with are gonna be great too. I am really excited to see where we go this season! AND I finally got job offer! I have to wait till the end of the month before it all become official, but basically I've been told the job is mine. I need to start putting some lesson plans together. So much to do. Sunday I am leaving to stay with Brett for the summer, which cannot come fast enough, and then in Aug. I move into my new condo!! I will start getting paint and decor ideas soon, so keep an eye out for those posts! :) Hmm... what else? I think that is it for my update, but once I start putting ideas together for the condo I will have lots of fun posts coming. Yay!! I love decorating!!!!

Enjoy!!

Brittany's wedding is getting close!!

Oh boy, this month is the big day! Got a lot of fun stuff coming up. Less than two weeks till the bachelorette party, and just 18 more days till the wedding! yay! Gotta come up with our make up colors. She has been really savvy with money and one of the ways she is saving is doing our own make up. I am pretty excited to help with this, I love doing make up. We will mainly be using MAC colors. I sell Mary Kay so I have a few items I can use to help out since I have a bunch of free samples. This will save the bridesmaids a lot of money also. MAC has great make up but is really expensive to get done by one of their reps. So, some of the colors we have looked at are show...
MAC colors:
sable

Vanilla

Naked

Bare Study Paint

Mary Kay:

Pressed Powder

Mineral Eye Colors:

Chocolates

Pinks:

Creams:

I still need to get skin tones for lips and cheeks. Hopefully I will have enough samples that everyone will find one that matches them! More to come...

Dining set ideas...

So I have been browsing the web for ideas on how to decorate, and I have really come to like the pub/bar style dining table sets. I don't know if I would want backs on the chairs, or cute little bar stools. Some of the ones I found that I really liked are way too much but I hope to find something similar at a discount store, or even start thrifting to see if there is something I can work with there.
I just hope I can find one for a decent price. I don't want to go over $300 if possible. Most of the ones I really like are more so I'm hoping my bargain shopping instincts can help me find one for less. More ideas to come.

Decorating Ideas...

So, I have a pretty definite job offer, roommate and condo lined up. The only problem is I don't have my own furniture! I am looking around to get ideas of why style I want. I don't want anything that can become outdated too fast, but rather neutral to time. I have found a few things I like...

I like the color scheme, but not a fan of the white couches. I would probably go with more browns or tans...

I don't really like the bed spread, but those colors are fun and wouldn't get old fast. I might do more with color though. Or play with accessories to add color...

I really like the furniture set in that last pic. I could easily take that with me when I go to live with Brett. We will see what else there is. I will try to add more ideas later. I love decorating!

What to do, what to do...

Soooo.... I had my interview last week, and I think it went really well... just waiting to hear back now. In the meantime, I have found out there is a possible Art History job opening at a local high school, and they would want me to coach cheerleading also. Sounds like an amazing gig, the only problem is I was planning on moving 3 hrs away this summer. That would mean I would have to stay here for at least another year. That also means at least another year of long distance, which sucks. If I get the job at the LCVA I think I will take it and just manage with waitressing part time also to pay the extra bills. I know I will be happier if I take that job too. I just don't know what to do, I know the "smart" thing would be take the full time teaching job that offers benefits and counts towards retirement, but then again I would be miserable, and not have as much time to go visit Brett. I don't get to see him very much as it is. Blarg... I don't know. I guess I just need to wait and see if I get this job at LCVA first. Then I can go from there. Why can't things just be simple???

Some sweet pics...

Check out the pictures in this link of the volcano in Iceland, they are some amazing photos! Keep those affected by it in your prayers.
