SNOW!

So we never get a good snow fall in our area, so whenever they call for snow it makes me laugh. I went out of town this weekend to spend time with my boyfriend and found myself snowed in....the worst part was I had blabbed my mouth about how I would be fine because there was not going to be that much snow to worry about it. Totally eating my words! Ha. We got a little over a foot of snow! The only time I have seen that much is when I went snowboarding, the last time it snowed I think we got about 4" and I thought that was a lot. Haha. I'm sure to people who get snow all the time a foot isn't a big deal, just a pain in the ass for all the mess it makes, but for me it was pretty cool to see that much. That was until I was supposed to drive home... Luckily schools closed so I didn't have to miss work. The down side is today was already a make up day from the storms we had in November, now we have 3 days to make up because school is closed again tomorrow. I understand it's for safety reasons, and I admit I like being able to have the extra time to get things done, but I do need to work so I can pay my bills, and if we have to make up school on a Saturday I will be less than thrilled to make that money. I just hope they can get a handle on the roads tomorrow so we can get back to school by Weds. The days we are missing are exam days, and I heard someone say we might have to make up all four exams in one day. That will be hell. The students will be pissed as well. During exams each block is extended 20mins, and they are already 90min blocks to begin with, so imagine 25 kids sitting in 4 classes all day taking tests and each class having an extra 20mins tacked on. That is bad for both students and teachers. Ick.

I was glad to get home today, not because I didn't want to spend an extra day with my boyfriend, because that would have been really nice, but because they are calling for more bad weather. A wintry mix. Yuck. I do not need to be driving in that crap. No thanks. I was stuck in the snow and it took 3 guys to clear out the driveway enough to get my car out so I could go home today. It didn't help that they buried my car in the snow in the first place.
Poor Kendra! Hahah...

Oh well, tomorrow I get to play in the snow! yay. For now I need to be going to sleep. My eyes are telling me it's past my bedtime. Nighty night!
